In Conversation with…Keith Peacock

By 31st May 2023 No Comments

In April 2020, when we were all ‘locked down’ during the Covid pandemic, I recorded a series of interviews with ‘Mr Charlton’ Keith Peacock on behalf of Charlton Athletic Community Trust & in association with my friends at ‘Charlton Live’.

The five podcasts cover Keith’s entire, distinguished career in football from his debut for Charlton as a 17- year-old in 1960 up to his current role as Club Ambassador. Keith is an excellent raconteur and, although we had to do them on the telephone at that time, we had great fun recording these podcasts.

With the huge support of my friend and talented long-term associate Dan Bream, the creator of charity fundraising platform ‘Charity Hive’; I have just launched my new website ‘Charlton Chat’ which features three complete podcasts of the radio show of the same name I presented weekly with Clive Richardson in the early 1990’s, so I thought I would add all five of my interviews with Keith to the collection.

Here’s the link to all five podcasts: Charlton Chat

Part 1:

In this the first of a series of five interviews with Charlton legend Keith Peacock about his early life and the important role played by a former Charlton star at the start of his football career.

Part 2:

In the second part of the series, I chat with Keith Peacock about his decade away from The Valley in the 1980’s and moving to the USA to play for Columbus Magic.

Part 3:

In the third part of the series, Keith Peacock and I talk about his return to the Club at the start of the 1990’s and the 1998 Play-Off Final against Sunderland.

Part 4:

In the fourth part of the series, I chat to Keith Peacock about the period from 1999 to 2006, returning to the Premier League at the first attempt and the growth of the club on and off the field.

Part 5:

In the final part of my interview with Keith Peacock we cover the period from 2006 to date.

I hope you enjoy listening to them – whether that’s for the first time or again if you heard them back in 2020 – and if you do, please consider making a donation to support the ground-breaking work of the Charlton Athletic Community Trust: Charlton Athletic Community Trust – Donate (cact.gives)
