I want you to know that I owe you more than I can ever express for everything you did for me, and for Daddy, with regard to the statue and the whole celebration. As you so rightly said ,the Centenary Season was a great success and the statue unveiling on the Club’s 100th birthday was special day and, like you, I will never forget it.

Atlantic Cup 2009 Boxing Dinner
Atlantic Cup 2009 Boxing Dinner
The Atlantic Cup, an inaugural event being organised by the British Amateur Boxing Association (BABA) in association with the Willow Foundation will be taking place on Friday 13th November.

The evening to be held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London will see six of England’s top amateur boxers face the very best from the USA. This exclusive event will culminate in the presentation of the Atlantic Cup to the winning squad.

Derek Mapp, BABA Chairman said: “This will be the first time the GB Team has boxed as a team outside the Olympics. It is an historic occasion. The proceeds of the evening will help fund further investment into our Olympic hopefuls and also help a fantastic charity - The Willow Foundation."

Steve Sutherland, BABA Commercial Consultant said: “Come and enjoy a great night’s boxing which will also feature for the first time Women’s boxing on the same bill as Men.”

Greenwich Council have appointed Steve Sutherland Sports Marketing to assist with identifying and targeting commercial opportunities available to the borough in connection with the London 2012 Olympics.

Katrina Delaney, Greenwich Council Assistant Chief Executive (Communication and Community Engagement) said: “Steve's flexible and dynamic approach is proving invaluable to Greenwich in helping to shape our commercial offer for the London 2012 Games.

“The Games will bring the eyes of the world onto Greenwich and it is vital that we prepare well to give local residents, visitors and the Olympic family the best possible experience.”

30% of the London Olympics will take place in the London borough of Greenwich, namely gymnastics at the O2 Arena, rifle and pistol shooting at Woolwich Barracks and the equestrian events will take place in Greenwich Park against the background of the iconic Queen’s House.
