Posted: 24 November 2011
Sustainable employment specialists, REDS10, have officially signed up to become Patron of the Charlton Athletic Community Trust's Crime Reduction strand.

In a deal created in association with Steve Sutherland Sports Marketing who will now support the company’s business development team; REDS10 become the ninth Patron following the launch of the Trust's Patrons Scheme earlier this year.

The Crime Reduction Department engages supports and challenges some of the most 'at risk' young people both in terms of offending and becoming victims of crime. Incorporating the ground-breaking Street Violence Ruins Lives project, the Crime Reduction Department plays an integral role by providing support, development and career opportunities for targeted young people.

REDS10 offers unskilled, unemployed individuals a pathway into sustainable skilled jobs, through construction projects in their local areas. Their approach supports these individuals into long-term sustainable careers whilst also addressing construction skills gaps.

Paul Ruddick, REDS10 Managing Director, said, ‘We are very excited about becoming the Patron of CACT’s renowned Crime Reduction programme and the mutual benefits it will bring. Working with such a respected organisation as Charlton Athletic Community Trust can only enhance and assist our approach to getting local residents onto apprenticeship schemes in the construction industry and we are looking forward to supporting the Trust’s vital work in the difficult area of crime reduction.’

Regarding the link with Steve Sutherland Sports Marketing Paul said, ‘with Steve Sutherland, who co-chairs CACT’s ‘Street Violence Ruins Lives’ campaign supporting our business development team, REDS10 will go from strength to strength. We are particularly excited about the links and introductions Steve can make with local sporting clubs and their respective community schemes in the areas that we are operating.’

Trust CEO Jason Morgan said, ‘We are delighted to welcome Paul and his colleagues from REDS10 on board as one of the Patrons. Working with 'at risk' young people is a hugely important part of the Trust’s work and having the support of a company such as REDS10 can only help us to improve the service we offer to our key stakeholders. We look forward to working closely with Paul and his colleagues’.
